3 Easy Vintage Summer Desserts

Blueberries, strawberries and plums are front and center in these easy vintage recipes that are sure to please any crowd!

This Czechoslovakian blueberry bublanina cake is moist, light, and topped with buttery streusel. Discovered in a cookbook created by a group of friends in Los Alamos, New Mexico in the 1970s, this will be your new summer favorite!

This Strawberry “Long Cake” is a vintage twist on a summer classic. Baked in a pan and topped with juicy strawberries and whipped cream, it’s simple to transport, perfect for a picnic or barbecue, and ideal for serving a crowd.

This recipe comes straight from a 1940s cookbook, bringing nostalgic flavor to today’s summer tables.

This luscious dessert is full of juicy sweet plums which are tossed in brown sugar and covered in streusel. And if that weren’t enough, you pour butter all over it before you pop it into the oven. The plums and butter combine to make a lush syrup, and the streusel crisps up to add a bit of texture.

Topped with whipped cream or ice cream, this is a delicious way to honor the mighty plum before summer’s end.
